ABOUT US
The Grand Junction Fire Fighters Foundation was formed in 2015 as a 501 (c) (3) charitable non-profit organization. Our organization was created and is operated by fire fighters and volunteers who share a passion for helping others in need.
PURPOSE
Our fundraising provides grants for fire fighters, fire fighter families & local residents who have suffered a significant personal tragedy. We also provide grants to local organizations that support our mission and values.
As Grand Junction fire fighters we have daily encounters with families in our community. These interactions are personal and usually take place in the families living environment. We created a community support campaign that allows us to identify and support families that are struggling financially. Our assistance is tailored to each individual family to best improve their unique situation.
Along with our grant & community support programs, we donate annually to local charities including:
-
City of Grand Junction Employee Assistance Foundation
-
Colorado Professional Fire Fighters Foundation
FUNDING
The GJFF Foundation receives funding from event proceeds, grants & individual donations.
Our largest fundraiser is the GJ Turkey Trot 5k. The event is held Thanksgiving morning each year bringing more than 2,000 participants to downtown Grand Junction, Colorado. We raise over $70,000 from race registrations and sponsorship contributions and have nearly $40,000 in proceeds available for assistance.
No one involved with the management and operation of the GJFF Foundation is ever compensated for their time. We share a passion of helping our community and standing behind the individuals that risk their lives keeping the community safe. We proudly make 100% of our funds available for assistance.
